Speaking of the death of Mrs.
Annie G. Sharp, of Bardstown,
the Courier-Journal of last Sat-
urday says:
Mrs. Annie Grundy Sharp, of
Bardstown, died yesterday morn-
ing at Dr. McMurtry's Infirmary
where she had been a patient for
sopme weeks. The immediate
cause of her death was an acute
attack of pneumonia.
Mrs. Sharp was the youngest
daughter of the distinguished law-
yer, Felix Grundy. She was
born in Washington county, and
at an early age became one of
the most popular and attractive
young women in the state.
In her eighteenth year she was
married to Solomon L. Sharp,
the youngest son of Solomon P.
Sharp, then of Frankfort, but
later of Louisville. Mrs. Sharp
has three children surviving her,
John M. Sharp and Mrs. Ben-
nett H. Young, of this city, and
Mrs. Sam C, Muir, of Bardstown.
In her home Mrs. Sharp was
widely known for beautiful hos-
pitality and wide liberality to-
ward all benevolent objects. For
many years she had been a mem-
ber of the Bardstown Presby-
terian church and one of its most
strenuous and active workers.
Of renowned lineage, she was
never forgetful of the poor
and humble. Her charities were
widespread and none ever ap-
pealed to her in vain. The pos-
sessor of a competence, she never
used it selfishly, but the larger
proportion of her income was
used to bless and help others.
Her place in Bardstown was
considered an ideal old time
Kentucky home, and its doors
always extended unstinted hos-
pitality. With all the womanly
accomplishments she was well
fitted to adorn a typical Christ-
ian home, but not only for the
ministers of her own church but
all others there was always a
welcome at her fireside.
Her remains were removed to
the home of her daughter, Mrs.
Bennett H. Young, where the
funeral will take place at 12
o'clock today, after which her
remains will be laid beside those of
her husband in the family lot in
the Frankfort cemetery.
