Born, Wednesday, Sept 4, 
1901, to the wife of Mr. C. Palmer
Louisville, a boy. Mrs. Palmer
was formerly Miss Lula Stiles, of
this county. Her mother, Mrs.
L. K. Stiles left this morning to
remain with Mrs. Palmer several
days.

Mildred, a young child of Mr.
and Mrs. Lem Jones, died in
Louisville last week.  She was a
bright little girl and her death
is deeply lamented.  She was a
granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Monroe Unseld, of Early Times.

  Mrs. James Coomes, aged 84
years, died last Thursday at the 
home of her son, Mr. Jas. O.
Coomes, near Deatsville, of in-
firmities due to old age.  Her re-
mains were interred at New Sa-
lem last Saturday.  Deceased
leaves four children - Mr. Jas. O.
Coomes, Mrs. Hoagland, Cler-
mont, Mrs. Elijah Brooks, Deats-
ville, and Mrs. Mary Metcalfe,
Harrison's Fork.
