Joshua Clark 1801-1887 Ripley County, Indiana& Record of Deeds book "L" 44 &45. This Indenture made this thirteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three between Joshua and Jane his wife and Nancy Sanders of the County of Decatur and State of Indiana of the first part and Hawkins Blackwell of the County of Ripley and State of Indiana of the second part. Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of Ninety Dollars to -the said party of the first part by the part of'the second part in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said party of the second part all the following described pieces or parcels of land situated lying and being in the,County of Ripley and State of Indiana and being the equal undivided two thirds, parts of the east half of the southeast quarter of section fifteen in Township seven north of range ten east in the district of lands sold at Jeffersonville, Indiana the same having been bequeathed to the said Jane Clark and Nanoy Sanders by Henry Wooley Deceased-to have and to hold the above described premises with all the appurtenances to the same belonging,,to the said party of the second part his heirs-and assigns-forever and the said party of the first part their heirs executors and administrators the aforesaid lot or tract of land with the appurtenances to said Hawkins Blackwell his heirs and assigns will forever warrant and defend. In Witness Whereof the said Joshua Clark and Jane his wife and Nancy Saunders have hereunto set their hands. and seals the day and year first above written. Personally appeared before the undersigned one of the Justices of the Peaoe of said county, Joshua Clark and Nancy Saunders and acknowledged the foregoing instrument of writing to be their voluntary act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned. Also Jane Clark the wife of the said Joshua Clark who being examined seperate and apart from her said husband and the full contents thereof made known to her acknowledged the foregoing,instrument to be her voluntary act and deed and that she-did sign seal and deliver the same voluntarily without fear coercion or compulsion of or from her said husband.
